Cross-Border Chaos: Noida Police Link Pakistan-Based Social Media Accounts to Labour Protest Violence

NOIDA – The Noida Police have made a startling claim regarding the violent labor protests that rocked the city on April 13, 2026. According to official statements, investigators have identified two specific accounts on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), allegedly operated from Pakistan, that played a central role in inciting the unrest.

The protests, which saw thousands of workers, take to the streets demanding a hike in the minimum wage, turned chaotic as clashes broke out with security forces and public property was damaged.

During a technical sweep of social media activity surrounding the "April 13 Chalo Noida" call, the police’s cyber wing flagged highly inflammatory content. The accounts in question allegedly used trending hashtags to spread misinformation, claiming that protesters were being targeted with lethal force, which investigators say was a deliberate attempt to radicalize the workers and escalate the tension.

"Our digital forensics team tracked the IP addresses and metadata associated with the primary handles pushing these narratives back to locations in Pakistan," a senior Noida Police official stated. "These weren't just opinions; they were coordinated efforts to fan the flames of a local labor dispute into a broader law-and-order crisis."

What began as a demonstration by industrial workers from the Noida and Greater Noida manufacturing hubs quickly deteriorated. While the core grievance—a demand for an increase in the monthly minimum wage to meet rising inflation—was legitimate, the police claim the "external intervention" diverted the peaceful nature of the protest.

By the afternoon of April 13, several buses had been vandalized, and stones were pelted at police cordons. Over 50 individuals were detained on the day, but the new evidence suggests the masterminds were never on the ground.

The revelation has shifted the investigation from a local labor issue to a matter of national security and digital warfare. Noida authorities have reached out to central agencies to further probe the links between these social media handles and organized disinformation networks.

The police have issued a fresh advisory to citizens and labor unions, urge them to verify information before sharing and to be wary of "outside influences" looking to exploit local grievances.

Noida Police are currently working with the legal team of X to suspend the identified accounts and gather further user data. Meanwhile, additional forces have been deployed in industrial sectors to prevent any further flare-ups as the wage negotiations continue behind closed doors.
