Deepak Chopra: New Age Guru, UCSD Prof – and Epstein Confidant

Deepak Chopra, a figure synonymous with New Age spirituality and wellness, has found himself in the spotlight following the release of 3.5 million documents by the U.S. Justice Department linked to Jeffrey Epstein. This release has revealed a series of emails and messages exchanged between Chopra and Epstein that paint a troubling picture of their relationship.

Chopra has cultivated a career promoting mindfulness and holistic living, gaining a following that includes notable celebrities. However, the recent disclosures have raised eyebrows, particularly due to the nature of his correspondence with Epstein. In one revealed email from March 2017, Chopra stated, “God is a construct; cute girls are real.” This alarming tone underscores the casualness with which Chopra discussed intimate subjects with someone whose legal issues and character remain deeply controversial.

Throughout their correspondence, Chopra extended invites to Epstein for social gatherings and even suggested travel arrangements, a detail that raises questions about his judgment given Epstein's criminal history. In one message, Chopra explicitly invited Epstein to accompany him to Israel, stating, “If you want, use a fake name. Bring your girls."

Further layers emerged when Chopra allegedly accepted offers from Epstein to send "two girls" to his events, showcasing a lack of awareness regarding Epstein's nefarious activities, even years after Epstein's conviction for sex crimes. These interactions reveal a familiarity that goes beyond mere acquaintance, with the two reportedly meeting numerous times between 2016 and 2019.

In response to the fallout from these revelations, Chopra publicly asserted he never engaged in any criminal activity linked to Epstein. He expressed sorrow for the suffering of Epstein's victims and emphasized that his contact with Epstein was limited and unrelated to any abusive conduct. “Some past email exchanges reflect poor judgment in tone,” he noted, appealing to the public for understanding given what was known at the time.

Alongside these revelations, Chopra is facing renewed scrutiny as additional allegations have surfaced from individuals claiming misconduct at meditation events. Artist Sevda Rubens alleged inappropriate behavior from Chopra when she was only 16 years old, contributing to a growing dialogue about the responsibilities of influential figures in wellness industries.

As public outrage mounts, Chopra's legacy as a spiritual guide is under intense scrutiny, prompting discussions about accountability within the wellness community and the dynamics between established male figures and young individuals seeking guidance.
