In a bizarre incident that unfolded in Ocala, Florida, two teenagers were taken into custody after they rode a lawnmower through the entrance of a local Target store. The event occurred on April 21, 2026, and is part of a series of reckless actions fueled by social media, according to the Ocala Police Department.
The arrested individuals, Janek Szkaradek and Luke Charske, both 18 years old, first caused a disruption at a nearby Culver’s restaurant by using a leaf blower, which alarmed employees and customers. After that, Szkaradek drove the lawnmower into Target while Charske filmed the escapade.
Szkaradek has been charged with criminal mischief and disorderly conduct for his role in both incidents, while Charske faces one count of disorderly conduct as the videographer. The Ocala Police stated, “These are crimes, not harmless videos,” emphasizing that social media stunts can lead to serious legal consequences.
Officials also noted that the teenagers' actions endangered individuals inside the businesses and resulted in unnecessary property damage. They warned other would-be stunt performers to think carefully before engaging in similar antics, as the repercussions may outweigh the fleeting amusement of virality.
