BEIRUT, Lebanon — An Israeli drone strike in southern Lebanon injured five soldiers from the Lebanese Army, escalating tensions along the volatile border region as conflict dynamics shift and military confrontations intensify.

According to official Lebanese statements, the unmanned aerial vehicle targeted a vehicle carrying four soldiers on a road near Qaaqaaiyet El Jisr. A second drone strike hit a motorcycle carrying the fifth soldier, leaving all five wounded. Emergency teams quickly transported the injured to Nabatieh Governmental Hospital, where medical staff described some injuries as serious.

The Lebanese Army confirmed the incident in a brief statement, noting that two of the soldiers were in critical condition following the attack, though full details on the nature of their wounds have not been released.

This confrontation comes amid broader unrest along the Israel–Lebanon frontier. In recent weeks, Israeli forces have maintained repeated air operations across southern Lebanon and in the vicinity of Beirut, drawing international concern over civilian and military casualties in the region.
