ISFAHAN, Iran — Joint airstrikes carried out by the United States and Israel struck military facilities in Isfahan, targeting an Iranian Air Force base and other strategic infrastructure as the regional conflict between Tehran and its adversaries continues to intensify.
Explosions were reported across Isfahan province as missiles and aerial bombardments hit multiple sites linked to Iran’s military capabilities. Local reports indicated that facilities connected to Iran’s air defense systems and aircraft operations were among the targets of the strikes.
According to Israeli military statements, the strikes focused on military compounds at the Isfahan airport complex, including Iranian fighter aircraft and detection systems believed to threaten Israeli and allied aircraft operating in the region.
The operation is believed to be part of a broader joint campaign by the United States and Israel aimed at weakening Iran’s military infrastructure, including missile systems, air defenses, and command facilities. Reports indicate that hundreds of targets across Iran have been hit since the offensive began.
Iranian media reported that strikes in the Isfahan area also hit industrial sites, with at least 15 people killed in one attack on a factory, though details remain limited and casualty figures from military facilities have not been fully confirmed.
Witnesses described large plumes of smoke rising from the targeted areas as emergency services rushed to assess damage and search for survivors.
The strike on Isfahan comes amid a rapidly widening conflict between Iran and the U.S.–Israeli alliance. The joint military campaign—reported to involve extensive aerial bombardments and missile attacks—has targeted key military and strategic sites across several Iranian cities.
In response, Iran has launched missile and drone attacks against Israeli territory and U.S. military facilities across the region, raising fears that the confrontation could expand into a broader Middle East war.
International leaders and diplomatic organizations have called for restraint, warning that continued escalation could destabilize global energy markets and threaten security across the Middle East.
As both sides continue exchanging strikes, analysts warn that Isfahan—home to major military and industrial facilities—may remain a key target in the unfolding conflict.
