U.S. Troops Rushed to Bahrain Hospitals After Tower Attack

MANAMA, BAHRAIN — U.S. troops and other personnel were rushed to hospitals in Manama after a direct attack on facilities in the Bahraini capital following a wave of missile and drone strikes attributed to Iranian forces amid the ongoing conflict involving the United States, Israel and Iran.

The capital, which is home to the U.S. Naval Support Activity Bahrain base, headquarters of U.S. Naval Forces Central Command and the Fifth Fleet, has faced repeated attacks in recent days. Iran launched coordinated missile and drone strikes targeting military and civilian infrastructure across Bahrain, resulting in fires, injuries and emergency responses throughout Manama.

Several of those injured — including U.S. military personnel and affiliated workers — were transported to local hospitals after the strikes impacted buildings in and around the city’s central districts. Bahraini emergency services and security forces worked to evacuate the wounded and treat casualties, with some requiring urgent surgery and trauma care due to blast and shrapnel wounds.

The attacks came as part of an escalation of regional hostilities sparked by the broader U.S.–Israeli military campaign against Iranian targets. Bahrain, a key U.S. ally in the Gulf region, was among the primary locations struck by missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles in retaliation, alongside other Gulf States including Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia.

Bahraini air defenses reportedly intercepted many incoming threats, but some missiles and drones penetrated defenses and caused damage to civilian buildings, residential towers and structures housing military support functions. Dozens of people were reported injured across the city, including children, highlighting the conflict’s growing impact on non combatants.

The Bahraini Ministry of Interior condemned the attacks, calling them violations of international law and a threat to regional peace and security. Officials have urged residents to remain vigilant as defense forces maintain heightened alerts and continue investigations into the strikes.

The violence in Bahrain reflects the widening scope of the conflict, which has now drawn several nations in the Middle East into direct confrontation, complicating diplomatic and military efforts to de escalate the crisis and protect civilians and allied forces across the region.
