D4vd Accused of Murdering 14-Year-Old and Covering Up with Online Purchases

On April 30, 2026, disturbing allegations emerged against musician David Burke, known by his stage name D4vd, who is accused of killing 14-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez. Prosecutors claim Burke stabbed Rivas multiple times and dismembered her body using chainsaws in a gruesome cover-up attempt facilitated through online purchases.

Burke, 21, allegedly began a sexual relationship with Rivas when she was just 13 years old, continuing until her death in April 2025. Prosecutors contend that when Rivas threatened to expose their illicit relationship, Burke felt compelled to silence her. After she was brought to his Hollywood Hills home from Lake Elsinore, Burke is accused of murdering her and then meticulously planning to hide the evidence.

The investigation revealed that Burke ordered chainsaws, a body bag, and an inflatable pool online, using a fake name to avoid detection. He reportedly used the inflatable pool to contain blood during dismemberment, and traces of Rivas's DNA were discovered in his garage. Prosecutors highlight the horror of his actions, asserting, “Defendant took horrifying measures to destroy and discard the victim’s body.”

The timeline of events is chilling; on April 23, 2025, Burke arranged for Rivas to come to his home and stabbed her shortly upon arrival, standing by as she bled to death. The next day, he gave a radio interview and hosted a record-release party for his debut album, all while keeping her body hidden in the trunk of his Tesla.

Authorities eventually located Rivas's decomposed body in the vehicle in September 2025, leading to Burke's arrest. An autopsy confirmed the death as a homicide caused by "multiple penetrating injuries," and subsequent investigations indicated the presence of child sexual imagery on Burke's phone.

Burke has pleaded not guilty to charges including first-degree murder, lewd acts with a minor, and mutilation of a corpse. His defense claims they will reveal evidence that disproves the prosecution's case during the forthcoming preliminary hearing.

As the case unfolds, the Rivas family expressed their heartbreak over the gruesome findings, highlighting the deep impact of this case on the community and emphasizing the need for justice for Celeste.
